HomeWatch LAN
Privacy Policy
1. Overview
HomeWatch LAN uses smartphones on the same local area network (LAN) as cameras so users can view video and save recordings on a Windows PC. The app does not automatically send recordings to Framecode Studio's cloud or advertising providers.
2. Information handled
When you use the app, it handles the following information as needed for its functions:
- Video from the smartphone camera and audio from its microphone
- Camera names, recording start times, and recording data
- Connection status, network delay, and error diagnostics
- The recording folder selected by the user
The app is not designed to collect names, addresses, contact details, location data, or contact lists.
3. Purposes
- Display camera video on the PC
- Start and stop recordings at the user's direction
- Save recordings to the selected PC folder
- Show connection status and help diagnose connection problems
4. Storage and communications
Camera video and audio are sent between the user's PC and smartphone through HomeWatch LAN on the same LAN. Recordings are saved in the Windows folder selected by the user.
The app does not include a feature to upload recordings to the developer's server, advertising SDKs, or built-in behavioral analytics.
5. Retention and deletion
The app does not automatically delete recordings. Users can delete unwanted files using Windows file management. Connection diagnostics may be held temporarily while the app is running to show connection status and help review errors.
6. Permissions
The smartphone browser requests camera permission for video and microphone permission for audio. Windows requires access to write to the selected folder and communicate with devices on the same LAN. Some features will not work if these permissions are denied.
7. Sharing with third parties
Except where required by law, the developer does not provide users' recordings or app usage information to third parties.
8. Safe use
Use the app on a trusted LAN that you manage, such as your home network. Do not expose it to the internet, configure port forwarding, or connect untrusted devices. Users are responsible for obtaining consent from people being recorded and following privacy expectations, site rules, and applicable laws.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised due to feature, legal, or operational changes. Updates will be announced on this page or the support page.
10. Contact
For questions about this policy, contact Framecode Studio.
